Founder and CEO
Michael is the Founder and CEO of Nanoexa. Michael has 15+ years business development, marketing, engineering, and general management in nanotechnology, clean energy, telecommunications, semiconductor, and consumer electronics industries as well as two years with a leading Silicon Valley nanotechnology start-up focused on delivering advanced nano-catalysts to gasoline and diesel engines. He was a co-founder and CEO of Nanostellar, Inc. and successfully built and led the team through start-up and early stage funding and initial product development and release of beta nano-catalysts to initial automobile and chemical customers. He was also CEO of Decktron (KOSDAQ) and Everex (KOSDAQ) which is publicly traded in Korea and successfully rebuilt and led the companies to the exit.
Previously Michael was the Founder and CEO at Xpeed Networks, which was acquired by Nayna Networks (OTC.BB) in March 2003. Xpeed focused on the broadband access market with DSL and Passive Optical Network Switch solutions. Under his leadership, Xpeed successfully penetrated the Japanese, Korean and US markets and post acquisition has subsequently continued to penetrate global markers or carriers including Hanaro Telecom, Northpoint, Bellsouth, Lucent, eAccess and NTT. At Xpeed, Michael built & led the team from startup to $28 million revenue and NASDAQ-IPO filing - in just 16 months.
His previous business experience includes Director of Business Development at 3DO, where he brought the company to profitability in record time. At 3DO, he was the tireless leader of international business development and technology licensing after holding several prior positions. He has been invited to speak at numerous Nanotech and Cleantech conferences.
Chief Technology Officer
For the past 10 years, Deepak Srivastava was a Senior
Lead Scientist and Group Leader of Computational Materials Design
and Nanotechnology related activities at NASA Ames Center for
Nanotechnology.
Dr. Srivastava co-founded and served as CTO of
Junius Tech, a computational materials design company, where he
helped build and advise the technical team, investigate future new
product and technology areas, and provide technology development.
In recent years, Dr. Srivastava has given
more than 100 invited talks on materials design, nanotechnology,
and aerospace and defense related applications in USA and abroad. His
honors include winner of Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology (Theory)
in 1997, Veridian Medal Paper Award (1999), The Eric Reissener
Medal (2002), and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Award for
Technical Excellence (2003). Dr. Srivastava has served as Associate
Editor of two peer reviewed nanotechnology related journals and
sits on the editorial boards of two other journals.
Chief Operating Officer
Richard is the COO of Nanoexa, where he guides day-to-day
international operations. Over more than 35 years as a senior manager,
Richard has held executive-level roles at Motorola, LSI Logic, Opti,
UMC/ITEX and Xpeed. Before joining Nanoexa, Richard spent three years
working with several environmentally friendly auto-catalyst and
lithium battery technology companies.
Richard has built world-class engineering
teams and created comprehensive technology manufacturing infrastructures
for several Fortune 500 companies. As senior director of sales and
marketing at UMC/ITEX, Richard played a pivotal role in igniting the
ADSL broadband revolution throughout North America and Asia. His
unique ability to catalyze growth at early-stage companies and
deliver them to worldwide recognition has earned him several
awards, including “Marketing Master” recognition for his work
at Motorola. Richard’s business acumen has enabled him to
consistently exceed revenue targets, while simultaneously driving
acceptability of new and radical technologies.
